With over 700 varieties to choose from, the world has been enjoying different types of peaches since their cultivation in China way back in 6000 BC. Here in the United States the first peach tree was planted in Georgia in the 1600s. Now some of the best varieties are grown across the country. The sweetest of those peaches are used in our moonshines.
On June 16th, 1982, Ronald Reagan declared August to be National Peach Month and today, we have many excuses to break out the peach cocktails. From Eat a Peach Day on August 22 to National Peach Pie Day on August 24, peaches are celebrated in various forms throughout the year. You can celebrate National Peach Melba Day (January 13), Peach Cobbler Day (April 13), and even National Peach Ice Cream Day (July 17) to get your peach fix year-round.
But enough about desserts, Peaches and Cream have nothing on our ultra-smooth spirit.
Our Recipe for Peach Moonshine
Midnight Moon Peach is an infusion of delicious peaches into 70 proof (35% alcohol content/volume) Midnight Moon. As it ages, the sweetness releases into the spirit for a certifiably smooth experience. It’s available in a 750ml mason jar, a 50ml mini mason jar and our new picnic packs featuring mini jars of our Peach, Apple Pie, Lightning Lemonade and Raspberry moonshines.
Like all of our flavored moonshines, this distilled spirit is made from 100% American corn and handcrafted in small batches.
Through our state-of-the-art distillation process, our moonshine recipe does not have the harsh, heavy corn taste people often associate with this category. The result is a very smooth spirit with a subtle sweetness from the corn.
We’re not the only ones who think we have the best peach moonshine recipe though. Our brand has been praised by bartenders and chefs alike who have found the balance of sweet peaches and moonshine to be the perfect addition to their creations.

.25 cup MM Peach shine
Peaches from one jar of Midnight Moon Peach Moonshine
1 28 oz can tomato sauce
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
.25 cup Apple cider vinegar
3 cups brown sugar
.5 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire
1 cup Molasses
2-3 fire-roasted jalapeños
1 bulb roasted garlic
Salt & Pepper to taste
Smoke the Midnight Moon peaches for about an hour. Fire roast jalapeños until evenly charred. Roast one garlic bulb until soft. Combine tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, and vinegar in a saucepan. Add the Midnight Moon moonshine, molasses, brown sugar, white sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and salt & pepper. Once combined, bring to a boil and then quickly reduce to a simmer. Taste the mix for desired seasonings and continue stirring for an hour or so to reduce slightly and prevent scorching.
Next, combine the remaining ingredients and process until smooth. Use it on all of your BBQ and summertime grill recipes.
Pro tips: You can remove the stems and seeds of the jalapeños for a milder flavor or leave them in for all the heat. You can also strain the seeds in a chinois or fine mesh sieve, this step makes for a super smooth sauce!
